    Jay,

Joe McDonough told me about your trip. I lived on Harlem Blvd. when you lived in Rockford. I left Rockford in 1986. Joe and I were friends in Rockford and reconnected when Joe and Ann moved to Madison.

Your trip looks incredible. All the best. I like the motorcycles.

What an incredible journey you’re on! I’m reliving our trip to Baja through your blog and photos.
These experiences will forever be a source of inspiration and imagination for you. Emily you are one tough cookie! I remember the frustration of succumbing to the deep sand and crashing the KLR 3 times at the end of a long, hot day in the saddle. Stay aware, safe and in the moment.

The point of the journey is never to arrive…..

Hi Jay. I was just thinking about your trip and wondering how it was going so I finally looked up your blog! It's very inspiring and I will be looking for new updates. I liked Emily's first blog post about getting back up!
I just had a dog tag made (yes, like in the military) and I could have anything I wanted written on it: I chose this: A smooth sea never made a good sailor.
    Take care.

    Hi guys,

We met you at a (very hot) gas station in Idaho, around Coure d'Alene (me on a KLR, my buddy on the white Triumph XC800).

Jay, you walked back after you found a card to hand to me.

Just wanted to let you know it wasn't a wasted effort, I found your site and will be following your trip. Hope you made it to Seattle and avoided the forest fires and all the best for the rest of your trip!

This website came to me at a propitious time. I have been considering - I'm not in the "planning" stage yet - from Western Michigan to Santiago, Chile, using the same basic route you plan on and was stymied a bit (okay..a lot) by how to get through Darién Gap. Knowing that someone else has tackled that first will make my own planning smoother when I get there. Thank you and I wish you the best. I will be living through you vicariously.
